We are so excited for our member Dale Treadway, Teacher & Master Gardener to share with us the amazing Pollinator Garden that is highly focused on Monarch preservation! Dale will share with us the process of managing this amazing gift of nature. We hope you will become inspired to start your own pollinator space- what a nice addition to your Dahlia garden!
* If you have children or Grandchildren please bring them! If they attend we give them their own Dahlia tuber to plant and hopefully you will encourage them to participate in the 2026 CDS show with a bloom!
Post presentation we will all be joining at Dales favorite local Pizza truck to enjoy lunch & friendship!
Come mingle with other growers looking to up their game in the September ADS shows. Our Senior Judges will likely split the attendees into novice and advanced growers to discuss characteristics of a great show bloom, what ADS Judges have been trained to look for, and how to stage and enter blooms properly.
Even if you don't intend to become an ADS accredited judge in the near future, this session will help you understand and identify superior blooms in your garden.
We will discuss the 2026 Southern States show book rules and offer some hints on everything from: cutting your bloom in the garden, how to safely transport your blooms to the show, staging both single entries and multiple blooms, filling out show tags, and tips on enhancing the appearance of your entry for the judges.
Judges Training session for Georgia and other Southern States members to be held in the morning before lunch. Everyone is welcome to come and learn from Senior Judges and start yourself down the path of becoming an accredited ADS Judge. Regardless of whether you plan to become a judge or not, the training will help you understand qualities of a good or great bloom.
Noon: Everyone is welcome to enjoy a pot luck and join in the joy and celebration of dahlias together. Meet like minded people from all over the south.
If you would like a garden tour, come early or stay late. The Goehring's grow 350+ varieties and 1,500+ plants in their front and back yard gardens.

After the election, we will be asking for volunteers to help with the various committees that help make our society fun and effective.
Come socialize with other members and kibitz about this season's accomplishments and growing successes. Note, there is no fee for the general mingling and food.
For those with a little crafty skill (not too much needed), get in the mood for the Holidays with a wreath making project.
